The Raymond James A2C Program (Assistant to the Chair) is a fast-track management development program that offers high-performing, self-motivated, experienced individuals the opportunity to acquire and hone the management and leadership skills necessary to succeed at the highest levels of the firm.
The mission of the role is to support and work alongside members of the Executive Committee, in addition to the chair and the CEO, leading special projects and initiatives that shapes the firm’s strategy, business development, and ongoing success. Over the course of the two-year program, A2C participants learn from some of the most respected minds in the financial services industry and regularly participate in meetings of the board of directors and other senior-level management sessions.
Under general direction and with a high level of autonomy, the A2C participant uses extensive knowledge and skills obtained through education and experience to develop, evaluate, and/or execute strategic initiatives across business units. Participates in executive meetings including Board of Directors, Operating Committee, Budget, and Department Head meetings. Identifies and proactively addresses issues of significant business impact that require extensive work with Senior Management as well as firm-wide coordination. This is a two-year position.
This program was first established in 1991 and many of our current C-suite executives are alumni of the A2C program.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
• Assists Senior Management to plan and execute strategic corporate initiatives.
• Implements standard systems and procedures for project management.
• Reviews and analyzes financial justification for projects with Senior Management.
• Prepares project proposals and plans.
• Develops an understanding of the business case behind each initiative, including the motivating factors for all stakeholders.
• Locates, gathers and analyzes information on potential solutions and best practices while evaluating the potential benefits to the organization.
• Assists in planning and implementing change initiatives.
• Prepares and delivers written and oral presentations to Senior Management.
• Establishes and maintains effective relationships with various functional areas, information technology groups, operations and finance.
• Takes an active role in leadership activities such as the United Way campaign, MBA recruiting, etc.
• Assists with the semi-annual budget process.
• Performs other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
